Regular Services
Two Worship
Choices at St. Mark’s

8:30 am Worship
-
traditional style
9:30 am Sunday School & Fellowship
10:30 am Worship -
contemporary style
Both
services at St. Marks are grounded in the message of God’s grace given to us
through Jesus Christ, experienced in the reading of God’s Word and in the
celebration of God’s presence in the weekly communion meal.
Traditional Worship-Sundays at 8:30
If you
enjoy listening to classical music, singing traditional hymns and liturgy,
and participating in responsive readings, this could be the service for
you. Our traditional service features organ, piano, and choral music
featuring pieces from the classics to today. Each service includes a sermon
that relates the bible message to issues of today. Whether you grew up in a
liturgical church and loved its music and words, want to pass on this rich
heritage of worship to your children, or need a sense of stability in the
midst of our chaotic world, our traditional service could be for you.
Contemporary Worship-Sundays at 10:30
If you
enjoy listening to modern pop or rock music, hearing the Word of God in
everyday language, and experiencing God’s message in new ways, this could be
the service for you. Our contemporary service is led by a worship team
featuring guitars, keyboard, drums, piano, flute, sax, and singers, which
plays modern Christian music with a more upbeat, energetic feel. Some
services include a sermon relating the bible message to issues of today;
while others include a skit or reflective reading that help you to
understand the lesson. Related activities for children are provided in the
back of the sanctuary to allow them to be part of the service without
getting restless, and a children’s message helps everyone deepen their
understanding of the day’s lesson.
With an emphasis on children, families, and upbeat music, the contemporary
service may be what you want.
Sunday School and Adult Education starts shortly after
9:30am. It is held between the two services.
