A Few Memories from our trip down the South Fork of the American River:
Fellowship at campfire was a great time to get to know each other and the Lord.
We had a blast navigating the class 3 rapids. This taught everyone a little
about team work and the results of not rowing in harmony.
We had the opportunity to play some Volleyball with the other groups at camp.
This was a great time laughing and making some new friends.
I think the rapids were fun. They could have been a lot more fun if we didn’t
run up rocks and if we flipped over a few times. I think we should go back.
We all had a blast. Between the rapids, the swimming, sit down frisbee, and
girls we were plenty occupied. The campfires were a great place for us to just
let loose and open up, no holding back. I would’ve liked to be there longer
though, and maybe do some rock climbing. Good times, good friends, and SUNDAYS
all around. Rock N’ Water.......... YEEEEHOOOOO!!!!!!

Some thoughts about the Ski
trip to Sugarbowl
The trip was the coolest snow trip I’ve ever gone to. It was so much
fun. I fell and I learned new stuff. I helped my friend Stephen learn to
snow board. -Alec
Some thought’s about the
last youth gathering
The youth group gathering last night was an interesting experience. We
were to bring a game to play, so I brought one of my favorites, Falling
Clowns (I know its for little kids, but the game is still crazy
awesome). Anyway, Pastor Fricke had us play this name guessing kind of
game, where we pick a person or character that people would know, then
people try to guess which character goes to which person. It made more
sense if you were there, okay? After that, we decided to play a little
ping-pong. This is where things started to fall apart. It started with
playing a regular game of table tennis, but not long after it became a
game of “Hit each other really hard with ping-pong balls.” After we
calmed down, it was lesson time, including watching Yoda speak about
fear in The Phantom Menace. Apparently, “Fear leads to hate, hate leads
to suffering.” This does make sense. If you hate something, then you’re
not going to treat that hated thing kindly. After the lesson, I learned
that the best way to deal with a fear is to face it head on. It’s the
only way to truly rid yourself of the fear. Matt Jackson |
The youth were asked the
question, What does the new year mean to you? Here are some of their
answers.
For many people the new year signifies a fresh start, a time for change,
or even a party. But with me it’s different, there is no fresh start, no
new change, and no party. My new year is nothing. It’s just an over lap
from one year to the next. All it means to me, is that the year I write
on papers is one higher. I keep no resolutions, its pointless; I mean,
your going to fail anyway so why try Its just another day, another dawn,
and another upset in life. That’s what my new year is.
-Jeremy
New Years means to me...
A whole new start. A new slate to go off of. You can make resolutions
,but can you keep them? That’s the question I think about on new years
eve. I always make a resolution and try to them, but it never works. So
for now on I make one that I can keep, like being a better person,
daughter, friend,
girlfriend, and student. I know I can keep those so that’s what new
years means to me.

| Some thoughts from the youth
about the resent service project. The youth gathered clothing and
personal care items delivered them to the homeless in San Francisco.
|
Going to San Francisco to hand out clothes to the
homeless was very exciting. Seeing all of these people coming out of no
where was so crazy. The clothe were gone in just 10 minuets. Giving out
cloths felt so good and refreshing. I felt so wonderful to give back to
the needy.
From Kelli
I was amazed that all the clothing disappeared so fast. Every one was
saying God bless you. I left feeling good about what we had done. And
wished that we could do more.

A poem from a youth
I can’t let you grieve for me,
For those who love must let us go.
In comfort, please believe I'm free,
From all the pain life can bestow.
As I begin my world anew,
Consider not what used to be.
I’m sending happy smiles to you.
While I enjoy eternity.
Lord, Bless the home from which I came,
Yet brush each lonely hour away,
With fond remembrance of my name,
And a sunshine for a newer day.
Look to the wind to find me there,
Beside the hardest things you do.
I’ve left my love with in this prayer.
I’m always watching over you.
